The Montgomery County Correctional Facility and the Montgomery County Department of Human Resources are inviting interested candidates for the role of correctional officer to a walk-up hiring event on Saturday, October 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event will be held at Montgomery County Correctional Facility, Community Corrections Building, 60 Eagleville Road, Eagleville PA, 19403.

            No pre-registration is needed, job applications will be available on site. Free parking is available at the facility. All visitors must check in with security at the main gate. Attendees should bring their resumes and valid driver's licenses.

            Upon successful hire, correctional officers receive generous benefits through Montgomery County that include competitive wages starting at $44,151 per year, tuition reimbursement, excellent health care benefits, a county pension, and paid time off.

            Newly hired correctional officers are eligible to receive a sign-on bonus equaling $4,415.10. The amount of the one-time sign-on bonus is equal to 10% of the annual salary amount (before taxes) and will be paid out once the employee completes their 90-day introductory period of employment with the county. Other conditions apply, new hires should refer to the sign-on bonus policy for full details.

            Among other qualifications, correctional officers must pass a background check and be available to work assigned shifts of twelve hours on a two-week rotation. Shifts start at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
