Elaine R. (Houskeeper) Young, 87, of Quakertown, PA, passed away on

Thursday, July 14, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. She was the loving wife of Donald F. Young, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2015.

            Born in Haycock Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late E. Richard and Grace E. (Miller) Houskeeper.

            Elaine was a 1952 graduate of Quakertown High School and spent 18 years at the former Lehigh Dye & Finishing in Allentown as a bookkeeper and payroll clerk before her retirement.

            She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and was an avid reader and loved animals, especially her cats. She was noted for her dry sense of humor.

            Surviving are her two children, Eric Young and his wife, Lisa of Quakertown and Adriene Woodin and partner, Tim Grosser of East Greenville; two grandchildren Jeffrey Young, and Jennifer Young and her husband, George Snyder; a great-granddaughter, Avery Joy; and her brother, Richard Houskeeper and wife, Judy of Tulsa, Ok. She is predeceased by a daughter, Diane L. Young.

            A memorial service will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 81 Main Street, Pennsburg, PA with a burial following in church cemetery on Penn Street. There will be a visitation from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.
