Services on Memorial Day honor those who served

Clyde Hoch, a Pennsburg resident, served as the featured speaker during service at St. Paul's Church. Hoch, who served in Vietnam as a tank commander, talked about the importance of Memorial Day and local veterans who gave their lives for the American people.

People stand at attention as the National Anthem is played at Memorial Day services presented by the American Legion Post 184 and the Joint Veterans Council of the Upper Perkiomen Valley.

In the Upper Perkiomen Valley, the day started with a service at the Red Hill War Memorial with a 21-gun salute in tribute to veterans. |
Scouts from across the Valley march up Main Street in a short procession to the War Memorial. Scouts later took part in services at St. Pauls Lutheran Church. |
