Dr. Edward Kabakjian
2022-01-19

Dr. Edward Kabakjian, 87, of Pennsburg passed away peacefully

on Sunday, January 9th, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Nancy C. (Bixler) Kabakjian.

Born on June 1, 1934, in West Philadelphia, Edward was the son of the late William and Rose (Silghijian) Kabakjian.

He began his teaching career at Octorara High School in Atglen, PA. Following that, he then taught a year at Trenton State College, and then served as Executive Secretary of the American Industrial Arts Association, in Washington DC.

Edward went on to serve as assistant to the Superintendent of the Quakertown School District until he retired from public school education. After retirement he served as Interim Principal at Quakertown Christian School. During his years in education, he created a Christian book ministry called the Shepherd's Staff where he traveled to Christian schools and the Creation Festival to set up bookstores. He did this for over 25 years beginning in 1980. A man of many talents, Edward also chartered bus tours for Greyhound and Kline Bus Co. both at the beginning and end of his professional years.

He attended the Providence Presbyterian Church in Quakertown.

Ed enjoyed taking his family on vacation every summer, and was always sure to pack his backgammon board for hours of competitive fun. After a long battle with cancer he went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 9, 2022.

Along with his wife, Edward is survived by his children, Kimberly, wife of Mark Bergan of Pennsburg, Kenneth of Harleysville, and Kevin and his wife Brooke of Conestoga, PA; his Grandchildren: Wesley, Spencer and wife Rachael, Karly, Kaleb, Katie, Emily, Greg and wife Alexis, Ben, Julianna, and Daniel; his great granddaughter, Lilah; his siblings, William Jr. and wife Kitty, Richard, and Arlene married to Marty Mooshian; and his beloved dog Spunky.

A Celebration of his life will be held at 12:00 on March 19 at the Providence Presbyterian Church, 2200 Krammes Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Crossroads Pregnancy Center in Quakertown. Send a check or donate online. The website is: Crossroadspregnancy.care/donate
