A public hearing for the request to transfer a liquor license by Wawa will be held before the Hereford Board of Supervisors' meeting on Tuesday, November 2.
Township solicitor Eugene Orlando presented information about the request at the supervisors' meeting on Tuesday, October 5, in person and via Zoom.
The Wawa store is seeking to transfer an existing license from Muhlenberg Township to its yet-to-be-built store at the intersection of Gravel Pike and Route 100. The license would permit beer and wine sales.
Orlando noted that the hearing allows the public to comment "on whether it's an appropriate transfer."
In maintenance news, the supervisors approved a motion to hire a certified arborist to review the dead trees throughout the township and to determine which ones might be hazardous. Residents would then be informed that they would need to remove these trees. The arborist is being instructed to start on Hollyberry Road.
Township engineer Jennifer Van Dyke also reported that her firm, Technicon, had drafted a bid for the removal of trees.
In other news, supervisor Keith Masemore reported that he and maintenance supervisor Chris Day had held interviews for a new crew member.
The supervisors appointed Renae Flexer to the zoning hearing board.
Chairman John Membrino said that the board had met in executive session on September 27 to discuss and strategize for the hiring of a new secretary/treasurer, and also would meet following Tuesday's meeting to discuss the hiring of a maintenance crew member.
