Robert J. Schantz
2020-12-22

            Robert J. Schantz, 79, of Pennsburg, passed away on Sunday, December 20,

2020. He was the loving husband of Diane C. (Croissette) Schantz, sharing 58 years of marriage together.

            Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late Richard and Rovina (Snyder) Schantz.

            Bob was a 1959 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School and a car salesman for over 40 years, Heimbach & Sweatt Chevrolet, Harley Auto, Dames Chevrolet retiring from Partners in Cars. After retiring he delivered auto parts and was a driver for an auto auction.

            He enjoyed drag racing at Maple Grove, when his son raced, and watching NHRA and Nascar. He also enjoyed watching his grandson play softball, watching the younger boys play in his back yard, gardening and anything about cars. He also loved all his cats that have gone home before him.

            Surviving along with his wife are his son, Ryan Schantz and companion Rose Discipio; three grandsons, Justin Sell and wife, Paula, and Jacob and Jack Schantz; a sister, Sandra Kriebel and husband, Andrew; a brother, Rick Schantz and wife, Jan; one niece; and five nephews. He is predeceased by a daughter, Kelly Sell and a sister, Vivian Boyer.

            Due to the current pandemic, there will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, East Greenville, PA. Please offer condolences to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made out to Diane C. Schantz for the grandchildren's educational fund.
