East Greenville Council agreed to change the method by which it compensates the chief of the Borough East Greenville Police Department. Beginning Monday, Chief Randy Morris will work no more than 32 hours a week and be paid hourly as opposed to via salary.
As part of a restructured contract – which runs through the end of 2022 – approved earlier this month, Morris will earn $40.56 per hour through the end of 2020, $41.47 per hour in 2021 and $42.67 per hour in 2022, according to the document obtained from the municipality through a Right to Know Request.
His original agreement, approved on Sept. 3, 2019, called for a 2021 salary of $73,500 and a 2022 salary of $75,000.
The new agreement, approved during the Dec. 7 council meeting, sets the number of paid vacation days at six for the police chief. In 2021 Morris received 12 days in 2020, according to the language of the original contract.
Morris will receive 32 hours of personal time during each future calendar year he remains in his current role, according to the new agreement. He had 40 hours during 2020. A paragraph on compensatory compensation and outside employment, previously included in the old agreement, has been removed from the new contract.
