Emma Conway Young, 92, a long time resident of Hereford Township, passed
away on Monday, October 6, 2020 in Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. The widow of the late John D. Young, Emma was born in Philadelphia and was the daughter of Beatrice (Perry) and Bernard H. Wagner.
An educator, Emma taught for 30 years in the Upper Perkiomen School District. For most of her career
Emma taught kindergarten and first grade; she took great pride in teaching students to read. Emma loved to travel and brought the knowledge of those experiences into the classroom. She served as a member of the Board of Trustees for The Perkiomen School. After her retirement, she was a co-founder of the Art Smart Program in the Upper Perk schools. A member of the Bally Mennonite Church, she introduced a summer story hour for children and worked to create and stock the church library.
Emma is survived by her three stepchildren. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren Elizabeth LeMay, Rachael Lyall, William Young, Daniel Young, Rebecca Hilgar, and Ryan Hickey and her three great grandchildren Carter and Blake Lyall and Aidan Young. She is also survived by her five nieces and nephews. Emma was predeceased by her first husband Bruce Conway.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
