The coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of the annual Blue and Gold Banquet, sponsored by the Upper Perkiomen Sports Booster Club. However, the awards were presented to the top athletes at Upper Perkiomen High School. A video posted on the school's YouTube page highlighted the recipients.
Four Upper Perkiomen seniors shared two outstanding athlete awards following a truncated season. The school handed out multiple athletic awards during last week's graduation celebration.
Tyrese Reid and Zach Rozanski both received the male Outstanding Athlete award. Reid, who qualified for the PIAA Championships in the long jump as a junior, will continue his career at West Chester University. Zach Rozanski was named the MVP of the wrestling and golf teams.
Morgan Lindsay and Noel Fresa shared the female Outstanding Athlete award. Lindsay, a standout softball player, led the Indians to three consecutive appearances in the state tournament and a pair of District One titles.
Fresa, a swimmer who owns nine team records, successfully defended her District One Class 2A title in the 200 free. She added a second-place finish in the 100 free. The standout, who will continue her career at Lehigh University, qualified for states four straight years and won four medals. She was named MVP of the Indians swimming team.
Mike Milkowich, a wrestler, received the All-Around Male Athlete Award. AiYi Young, a field hockey player who will continue her career at the University of Connecticut, won the Female All-Around Athlete Award.
Victoria Williams, a field hockey and lacrosse player, received the Deborah L. Hodge and Ralph W. Engle Memorial awards.
