Richland Cemetery Vandalized
2020-05-27

The Richland Township Police are investigating recent multiple incidents of vandalism at the Union Cemetery on Cemetery Road. According to Chief Richard Ficco, more than 100 American flags, left at the graves of deceased veterans, have recently been ripped out of the ground and torn up.

"Over 50 flags a night are destroyed," the chief wrote in an email message.

The incidents have occurred over four nights, according to Ficco. The department took criminal mischief calls on May 25 and May 26, according to information posted on the department's Crimewatch page.

Anyone with knowledge of the incidents is asked to contact the department at 215-536-9500. Witnesses can also use the confidential tip line at 215-536-6967.
