Patriot Day – Sept. 11
Never forget.
Patriot Day is a national day of service and remembrance that honors the memory of the nearly 3,000 people who were killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. It has grown to include the hundreds who have died since of injuries related to the attacks or their work in the recovery effort. In addition, it is a day to remember those who risked their own lives to save others that day.
A little more than one year after the attacks, President Bush proclaimed September 11, 2002, as the first Patriot Day
You can attend Patriot Day ceremonies or participate in a day of service in your community.
