There will be lots to see and do in the area on July 4, 2019. Groups and municipalities have been preparing to host family-friendly events throughout the Town and Country's readership area that are planned to make everyone's holiday experience special.
In East Greenville, Upper Perk Rotary and Love Upper Perk are hosting an all-day hometown celebration at the New Goshenhoppen Park, Third Street. Festivities begin at 7 a.m. when the park opens for a community yard sale and ends with a bang at 9 p.m. with a fireworks display.
Throughout the day, families can enjoy various activities including face painting until 1 p.m. and a kids bike decorating contest at 11 a.m. Pets are even welcomed to compete in the pet contest hosted by Logan's Heroes for categories of Most Patriotic Dressed, Best Groomed, or Most Talented at 9 a.m. Winners in both contests receive gift cards.
The packed schedule also includes the fireman's water battle at 9 a.m. and an in-cruise show for cars, trucks, and bikes at 1 p.m. Food and refreshments will be on sale all day benefiting the Upper Perk Rotary, as well as, DJ/music in the bandshell for entertainment.
Musical performances in the bandshell include Junior's Grades, The Red Hill Band, and the National Anthem sung by Keith Gerhart at 8:55 p.m. before the fireworks display.

Quakertown's annual Community Day will begin on July 4th from 8 a.m. and continue through the fireworks display scheduled for 9:30 p.m. The event will be held in Memorial Park, 600 W. Mill Street in the borough. Events include a Pancake Breakfast, Car Show, live entertainment, Fire Department Water Battles, baseball games, bingo, Civil War Reenactors, and many more family friendly events. In Upper Salford, the Upper Salford Citizens' Group 31st Annual Red, White, and Blue Parade will start at 10 a.m. Participants can start lining up at 9:30 a.m. on Potato Road.
The parade route begins at the corner of Potato Road and Old Skippack Road in Salfordville and continues east down Old Skippack Road to the Upper Salford Volunteer Firehouse, where there will be refreshments and a bake sale.
Registration forms are available the day of the parade (on Potato Road) and only needed if participant is competing for a prize. Prizes for the top entries will be awarded for the categories of Best Decorated Bicycle (Ages 8 and up or 3-7 years-old), Best Decorated Tractor/Vehicle, Best Decorated Large and Small Floats, and Best "Festooned" Walker.

Pottstown will be celebrating their third annual GoFourth Festival at Memorial Park, 75 W. King St. in the borough. Events kick-off at 11:30 a.m.
The event is filled with activities geared toward families, including the noon to 5 p.m. return appearance of "Grandpop Bubbles," a performance artist who creates enormous bubbles to delight young and old alike. Grandpop Bubbles' performance and all of the children's activities for the day are being generously sponsored by ROG Orthodontics.
There will also be inflatable rides and attractions, from noon to 8 p.m.; Rainbow the Clown face-painting artists from 1 to 5 p.m.; and much more. There will be food and a the Sly Fox Beer tent will be returning this year.
This year's Featured Community Partner is The Colebrookdale Railroad, which will offer short runs from noon – 4 p.m. (adults $10/children $5) and a Fireworks Express Run at 7 p.m. starting at the Colebrookdale Railroad Boyertown Station. Fireworks Express passengers will enjoy VIP seating for the fireworks display.
Be sure to bring your lawn chairs and wear appropriate footwear as passengers will be allowed to disembark from the train to enjoy the show from the park. Boarding for return to Boyertown will begin promptly after the show concludes.
