T. Lorraine Graber of Allentown, PA, passed peacefully on Friday, December

28, 2018, at the age of 94.  She was married to the late Ralph S. Graber for 68 years. 

            Born in White Haven, PA, she was adopted by her maternal grandparents, Jacob and Clara Green of Bethlehem, PA, following the death of her mother, Margaret Green Rothrock. 

            After graduating from Liberty High School, Lorraine worked as a notary public-secretary for the Ruthhart Insurance Agency-Keystone Building and Loan and later as secretary to the head of the English Department at Lehigh University. 

            Following her marriage in 1948, she was the secretary for the Lehigh University Institute of Research group who had a government contract to design bomb shelters during the Cold War.  

            When she and her husband moved to Pottstown, PA, while her husband was working on his doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania, Lorraine was employed as a collector of delinquent accounts at the Pottstown Hospital before it merged with the Pottstown Memorial Hospital.  She and her husband moved to Allentown, PA, in 1953 when her husband took a teaching position at Muhlenberg College.  

            After their four children graduated from or were in college, Lorraine was the manager of the Christian Community Services Thrift Shop which was part of the Center City Ministry of the United Methodist Churches.  She managed the Thrift Shop for eight years and was instrumental to the Thrift Shop's mission and growth in the community it served. 

            After her retirement as manager in 1993, she was a volunteer and Treasurer of the Thrift Shop.  She also volunteered for many years at the Lehigh Valley Hospital, 17^th and Chew Streets, and for other agencies.  Lorraine was honored by Center City Ministries for her many years of volunteer service. 

            In 2008, she was awarded the Lehigh Valley Hospital Outstanding and Dedicated to the Community Service award for her many acts of volunteer service.  In 2010, she was asked to throw out the first pitch for the AAA All-Star Game at Coca-Cola Park hosted by the Iron Pigs for her outstanding community service activities.  She was too nervous about her throwing arm at 84 years young but received much praise and applause from appreciative audience and the teams. 

            Lorraine had many special talents, among them crocheting, raising flowers and plants, quilting, refurnishing furniture, and a love of antiques.  She won numerous ribbons at the Allentown Fair for her exhibits in crocheting and antique submissions.  She and Ralph loved their many cats and were devoted to helping distressed animals.  

            She loved to travel and have new experiences with her friends and family.  Lorraine was known for her kindness, compassion and devotion to her expanding family, her friends, her community and church.  

            She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren along with her many friends.  Our family is blessed to have been surrounded by her love for these many years.  She lived a full life and the world is better for it.

            Survivors: daughter, Joan (wife of William Hock) of Doylestown; sons, Eric S. (wife Jeanne) of Newark DE, Christopher S. (wife Terri) of Berwick, Jonathan S. of Seattle WA; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.

            Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in STEPHENS FUNERAL HOME, INC.  274 N. Krocks Rd.  Allentown.  Call 9:30 a.m. until service time.  Interment will be in New Goshenhoppen Reformed Cemetery, East Greenville.  (www.stephensfuneral.com)
