Joseph A. Fino
2018-12-27

            Joseph A. Fino, 93 formerly of Red Hill, passed peacefully into the arms of

our Lord on December 2, 2018.  He was the husband of the late Dorita (Orlando) Fino.  Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Alfred and Rosaria (Carideo) Finocchio. 

            He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, and awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon and Victory Medal.

            Joseph was an engineering Technical for Unisys, in Blue Bell for 27 years, retiring in 1981.  Then he became the Supervisor of the Physics and Electrical Labs at Penn State, Abington. Joe was a member of the Community Bible Fellowship Church, Red Hill.  He was a Past Commander and Chaplain of the VFW, Post # 5954, Red Hill, as well as a member of the American Legion, Post #184, Palm.

            When he lived in Red Hill, he was a volunteer for the R.S.V.P. Program, in Pottstown, a volunteer teacher of adult literacy at the Penn Foundation, Sellersville; and a volunteer for Habitat of Humanity in Pottstown, and the Eugina Mental Hospital in Lafayette Hills. He earned a degree in Gerontology and Human Services and was a longtime active runner & skier.

            Surviving are children: Joseph Fino, Jr, and his wife, Beth; Valerie, wife of Eric Deveney; David Fino, and his wife, Jennifer; his ex-wife and companion, Janice Margle; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister: Marie, wife of Tony Greco, of Tinton Falls, NJ; and brother, Alfred Finocchio, and his wife, Pat, of Carlsbad, CA.

            A Memorial Service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Community Bible Fellowship Church, 426 Main Street, Red Hill.  Friends may gather from 1-2 p.m. at the church. Military Honors will follow at the Red Hill War Memorial next to the church.  Interment will be private at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA. 

            The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, is in charge of arrangements.

            In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the church, San Alfonso Retreat House, 755 Ocean Ave, PO Box 3098, Long Branch NJ 07740 or to St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 N. Main Street, Chamberlain, SD  57325.
