Margot Knauerhase
2018-11-09

Margot Knauerhase, 84, of Marco Island, Florida, and Harleysville, Pennsylvania, died on November 4, 2018, at the Seasons Hospice in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.  Margot was born in Magdeburg, Germany, and she immigrated to the United States, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1952 to marry her fiancé, Gerold Knauerhase.

Margot and Gerry moved to Marco Island in 1979.  She had long worked beside her husband in his accounting practice, and in the mid-1980s she returned to school for formal accounting classes and eventually earned her real estate license.  She sold her last property as a real estate agent when she was 80 years old.

Margot enjoyed golf, bowling, sewing, knitting, and rug hooking. She loved to play the slot machines and the lottery and was quite lucky at both.  Margot loved meeting new people, and was an excellent cook and baker, specializing in German food.

Margot was preceded in death by her husband, Gerold Knauerhase.  She is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Calogero (Frank) and Janet Keyser (Steve); two grandchildren Courtney Schultz (Brian) and Erich Keyser; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Alyssa Schultz.

A memorial service, followed by the celebration of Margot's life will take place on December 15, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 1101 North Collier Blvd., Marco Island, FL 34145.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to Infusion Center at St. Luke's Quakertown Campus, c/o St. Luke's University Health Network, 801 Ostrum Street, Bethlehem, PA 18015 or St. Mark's Episcopal Church.

Online condolences may be made to the family at www.RLWilliamsFuneralHome.com.
