merchant participation. This festival was a celebration of Americana, rich local heritage, regional agricultural significance, vibrant artistic community, and a nationally historic railroad. The primary location was within a three block downtown area and outlying Frecon Orchards.

            The Boyertown Pickfest Crawl was a popular event this past weekend. The celebration spanned October 12-14th and featured many talented acts across several venues that included eateries, artisan galleries, and unique

shops. The whole event was surrounded by local breweries, cideries, wineries, and spirits, and delicious local eats.

            On Saturday afternoon, the Rail Yard "Main" Stage included performances by The Tin Roof Drifters (Formerly known as the Hoppin' Boxcars), the GrasStation, as well as many other acts that entertained on the iconic Pickfest  GMC flatbed pickup.

            This year, the event expanded into the driveway for Ellixson's Tae Kwon Do school. This stage, named Pickin' and Kickin', featured many talented musicians, such as, Steve Walker, Pete Kranz, Grexin, and Uncle Jake. Several stages were setup throughout downtown Boyertown and featured great music and good vibes.

            Celebrating its 12th year, Pickfest has grown from a small gathering in the Orchard of Frecon Farm, to a town-wide festival. In the beginning, it was a seasonal event to pick apples as locals enjoyed the delightful sounds performed by local musicians.

            As the original event grew in size, the creators of Pickfest, expanded it to the heart of downtown Boyertown and put forth an event that encompasses agriculture, music, art, and community.

            Pickfest was presented by Tompkins Vist  Bank.  In addition, many local businesses sponsored the community event.  Admission to Pickfest was complimentary to the event; all food and beverages were pay-as-you-go. This was a dog and family friendly event.
