David Brian Detwiler, 78, passed away peacefully, with his loving family by his side on Sunday October 14, 2018 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. He was born on October 6, 1940 in Norristown, Pennsylvania to the late Titus Hackman Detwiler & Edna Yerger Detwiler.
David was a man with simple taste and a big heart. Following his honorable discharge from the United States Navy, David was able to enjoy his family and his hobbies. He was an avid reader who loved to do Sudoku puzzles, and cheer on the Philadelphia Eagles. David's true love was being outside working in his yard and garden.
Left to cherish David's memory are his beloved wife of 49 years, Ms. Kathleen R. May Detwiler of Myrtle Beach; their children, Krista Lyn Garcia and her husband, Reinaldo of Inman, SC & Daniel Detwiler and his wife, Christine of San Antonio, TX; his adoring grandchildren, Peter & Danny Detwiler, and Olivia & Stella Garcia; his brother, Dennis Detwiler and his wife, Nancy of PA; his sister, Judy McVaugh and her husband, Art also of PA; as well as several nieces and nephews, a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.
A Celebration of David's life will be held on Friday October 19, 2018 at 11:00AM at Burroughs Funeral Home, 3558 Old Kings Highway, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576.
