LeRoy Donald Fillman
2018-09-04

            LeRoy Donald Fillman, 89, of Schwenksville, PA passed away peacefully Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Sanatoga Center Nursing Home.

            LeRoy was born November 15, 1928 to the late Kathryn (Smith) and James Fillman.

            He attended Schwenksville High School, earned his diploma from the International Correspondence School and later earned a Certificate of Accountancy from Temple University in 1962.

            He was employed at Brooks Instrument of Hatfield, PA as Supervisor of Cost Accounting for 25 years and in 1984 purchased and grew a successful independent bread distribution business through the Martin's Famous Pastry Shoppe Corporation. 

            Beside his family, his passions for life included organic gardening, throwing quiots, indoor shuffle board, reading, and following his beloved Phillies and Eagles.

            Surviving with his wife Barbara (Carpenter) Fillman; are two sons, Mark, husband of Gail Fillman of East Greenville and Douglas Fillman of Schwenksville; three brothers, Ralph Fillman of Schwenksville, Ray Fillman of East Greenville and Dale Fillman of Barto.  He is also survived three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

            Relatives and friends will be received Saturday, September 8, 2018 between 9:30 – 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

            Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 111 North Reading Avenue, Boyertown.

            Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.

            In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 7th Floor, New York, N  10001 or online at alzfdn.org.
