Library & Heritage Center, the Legislative Affairs Breakfast featured national issues with a focus on how they affect the business community.
All of the congressional candidates from Districts 4 and 9 were represented at the event, with Dan David (District 4), Dan Meuser and Denny Wolff (District 9) in attendance and Bob Dean present to speak on behalf of his sister, Madeline Dean (District 4). Following sponsor introductions and breakfast catered by The Valley Café, each of the candidates had an opportunity to address Chamber members in attendance with their platforms.
After the candidates spoke, special guest speaker Steve Kelly, Senator Pat Toomey's Regional Manager/Press Secretary, provided a legislative overview including topics such as the Supreme Court, tax reform, trade, and bipartisan accomplishments from the current Congress, and answered questions from the audience. Both Kelly and the candidates were available to speak to after the breakfast.
This was the final event of the Legislative Series for 2018 and the Chamber wishes to extend a special thanks to Legislative Series sponsors Gillespie Electric, Inc. and PPL, as well as the August Breakfast sponsors The H&K Group and Montgomery County Community College, and host venue the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center.
