For anyone that is familiar with the work of Kristina and Jared Groetsch, owners and designers at Black Sea Jewelers in Pennsburg, this is what sets them apart from your average jewelry store. They specialize in transforming customers' ideas and dreams into jewelry reality. Many of the pieces they have worked on have a story behind them, or a special meaning for why they are created in their own individualized way.
Their individuality has not gone unnoticed, and it shows with the recent collaboration with an internationally recognized inventor, lecturer and historical treasure hunter, Stan Deyo. In years past, Stan had been an archaeological companion with Vendyl Jones, the real life Indiana Jones, on hunts for the Ark of the Covenant and other legendary mysteries.
In 2014, 'Indy' Deyo delivered a public lecture to some 5,000 people announcing his discovery of the original location of the Garden of Eden in northern Tanzania. When Black Sea and Stan got together, they launched the Garden of Eden Jewelry Collection, using only conflict free, 100 percent Tanzanian mined colored stones. Each design embodying essences from the Garden of Eden legend, as recorded in Scripture and passed down orally by the Tanzanian ancestors.
Coming from the very first family of precious metal casters in Bulgaria, Kristina has gone back to her roots, hand crafted precious metalwork, finished in Old World Black Sea style, which she is implementing in the creation of the Garden of Eden Jewelry Collection by Black Sea Jewelers.
This month, Stan, Jared and Kristina are dusting off the hiking boots to embark on an expedition to witness the Garden of Eden in the flesh, grab a handful of the red dirt that formed Adam, descend into the mines that provide the precious gems used in the new line and experience the wildlife that enjoy this glorious garden.
Countless hours of research has been put into this amazing discovery and into the planning of this expedition. Black Sea would love for you to be a part of this journey with them by following their Black Sea Jewelers page on Facebook. Kristina will be doing her best to post live updates for those interested in following them on their expedition. Also, a live, on scene, 'Coast to Coast AM with George Noory' interview is in the works.
