Michael D. Smith, 57, of Red Hill, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of John S. and Carolyn M. (Stanton) Smith.

            Michael was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pennsburg. He was very proud to have achieved becoming an Eagle Scout.

            Prior to living in Red Hill, he was an active volunteer for the Burholme Emergency Medical Service in Philadelphia. More recently, he was a volunteer at the Wellspring Clubhouse of Penn Foundation in Sellersville.

            Along with his parents, he is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Edna Fithion; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

            A Celebration of his life will be held at 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, at the Wellspring Clubhouse, 700 Main St., Sellersville, PA 18960 where all are invited to gather to remember him. He will be interred in the family plot in Nicholson Cemetery at a later date.

            In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Wellspring Clubhouse of Penn Foundation.
