Jane D. Wieand
2018-04-16

Jane D. Wieand, 90, of Pennsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by

her family on April 12, 2018. Born in Downingtown, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Ethel (Trumbower) Dilworth.

Jane worked as a typesetter for the Town & Country Newspaper for 16 years before retirement. She was a faithful member of Trinity Great Swamp United Church of Christ.

Her beloved family consists of her daughters: Karen, wife of Roger Schott of Barto, Lorraine, wife of Gary Fox of Pennsburg, Sandra, wife of Tony Shellaway of Pennsburg, Susan, wife of Craig Smoll of Pennsburg, and Barbara, wife of Ryan Hunter of Pennsburg; her grandchildren: Jennifer, Melissa, Andrew, Matthew, Douglas, Jessica, Katelyn, Casey, Stephanie, and Mason; her great-grandchildren: Avrie, Abby, Elise, Emma, Cadence, Jacob, Peyton, Drew, Riley, Taylor, Brady, and Beckett. She was predeceased by her sisters: Florence Laird, Mildred Miles, Ruth Clavier; her brother, Lawrence Dilworth, a grandson, Jason Shellaway, and great-grandson, Evan Dzielak.

Following graduation from Downingtown High School, she worked as a secretary for Carlson Steel near Thorndale. Jane's life was centered around being a dedicated homemaker and loving mother. She had excellent seamstress skills and loved to make clothing for her young daughters. Nurturing indoor plants and tending to her flower beds was a favorite pastime.

Raised on her family's dairy farm, she continued the annual tradition of freezing sweet corn and homemade applesauce with her daughters and grandchildren. In recent years, she enjoyed the companionship of her cat, Belle.

A memorial celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 4, 2018 at Trinity Great Swamp UCC, 9150 Spinnerstown Rd., Spinnerstown, PA 18969. She will be interred in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to her church in her memory or to St. Luke's Hospice. Visit her "Book of Memories" at falkfuneralhomes.com.
