2018-04-10

Ingvar Danielson of Lake Grove, NY and Pennsburg, PA, son of Anders

Harold and Ebba Danielson died on Easter, April 1, 2018.  Born eight-five years ago, he was raised in Port Washington, NY.

Ingvar worked for Potter Instruments in Great Neck, NY and Plainview, NY.  "Lank" became foreman of the prototype shop at Cardion Electronics, Woodbury, NY becoming Cardion's first product manager.

When Lake Grove incorporated, Ingvar was appointed to the Zoning Commission.  He served on the Planning Board, twice as Chairman, from 1968 to 1980, at which time he was elected Village Trustee, serving four terms.

Active in Boy Scouting from 1963 to 1975, Lank served as one of Suffolk Councils first male den mothers, pack master, pack chairman, founding committeeman for Troop 172, and neighborhood commissioner.

Lank became an executive committee member of St. Cuthbert's Episcopal Church, Selden NY, being the last founding father continuing as a communicant.  He served his church as vestry member, treasurer, lay reader, usher, choir member, building and grounds chairman, and resident mischief maker with his good buddy Fred Graden.

Ingvar was an honorary member of the Centerreach Fire Dept. as a member of the "Swee' Pea" team, serving as antique truck parade judge.  Lank was a member of Suffolk REACT and the Senior Men's Golf Club.

Ingvar is survived by children Anders (Linda Mancini), Aron, Nils (Michelle), Sonja Gould (Tom), Craig Demetres (Sandi) and eleven grandchildren.  He was predeceased by sons-in-law Keith Demetries and Scott Redo.

Services were held at St. Cuthbert's Episcopal Church, Selden, NY.  Ingvar's ashes will be interred in Pennsburg in the spring.

The family received condolences at the Centerreach Fire Department following services.

Arrangementgs were handled by O. B. Davis Funeral Home, Centgerreach, NY.
