James E. Mensch
2018-03-02

James E. Mensch, 61, of Pennsburg, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Born December 18, 1956 in Sellersville, he was a son of the late Ernest C. Mensch and Helen (Dewolf) Koder.

James was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, serving at the end of the Vietnam Era. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was very active in the American Legion, Post 184 of East Greenville. James loved spending time with his grandchildren any chance that he could.

He loved talking about his service in the U.S. Coast Guard. James would often reminisce about the ship he was stationed on, The Dallas.

James is survived by two children, Melissa Kratz and her husband Terry of Hatfield and Matthew Mensch of Pennsburg; and two grandchildren, Travis and Colton.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 8 from 1-5 p.m. in the American Legion Post 184, 744 Gravel Pike, East Greenville.

Contributions in James' name can be made to Vets for Vets, 32 Fourth Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073.

Arrangements by Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, Lansdale.
