Helen M. Mercer
2017-10-02

            Helen M. Mercer, 91, of Zieglerville, passed away October 1, 2017.  She was the widow of William Frederick Mercer.  Born in Frederick, she was a daughter of the late Augustus and Elsie (Stengl) Renninger.  

            Helen was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Sassamansville.  Earlier in life, she was a clerk at the former A&P, Pottstown.  However, for most of her life, she was a homemaker.  She enjoyed golfing and bowling. She especially enjoyed helping people, making and delivering food, and taking people on errands.

            Surviving are children: Doris, wife of Clarence X. Moyer, of Bechtelsville; and Robert Mercer, and his wife, Doreen, of Boyertown; a sister: Fern Hein, of Gilbertsville; a sister-in-law: Virginia Renninger, of Obelisk; grandchildren: Eric Steven Moyer, of Boyertown; Glenn Alan Moyer, and his wife Kate, of Sinking Springs; Brooke, wife of Joshua Meck, of Blandon; and Brittany, wife of Michael Leinbach of Chambersburg; and 9 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Ella, Gavin, Griffin, Harbyn, Mason, Savannah Grace, Briley, and Bryce.  She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Deborah; brothers: Earl, Allen, Willard, and Claude Renninger; and sisters:  Kathryn Freed, Mabel Stetler, and Irma Wolf Smith.

            A Memorial Service will be at 11 AM on Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1809 Hoffmansville Road, P.O. Box 307, Sassamansville, PA 19472.  Friends may visit from 10-11 AM.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, has been entrusted with arrangements.
