Joseph L. Ondra, 92, of Pennsburg, passed away, Thursday, September 28, 2017 at home surrounded by family. He was the husband of Ethel S. (Shank) Ondra, celebrating 61 years of marriage in July.          Born in Simpson, PA, he was a son of the late Michael and Verna (Ondra) Ondra.

      He was a 1943 graduate of Pennsburg High School and then served in the United States Army and Airforce.

      Joe was employed for the former Bell Telephone as a telephone repairman for 25 years until his retirement in 1982. After retirement, he worked for Milford Township in maintenance for many years.

      He enjoyed the outdoors so much that he volunteered with the Montgomery County Green Lane Park where he helped make new horse trails.

      Surviving along with his wife, are his children, Timothy and Nancy Ondra; two grandchildren; Ashley and Andrew Ondra; and two brothers, Emil and Martin Ondra.

      In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by four sisters, Mildred Williams, Verna Ondra, Dorothy Chobot and Helen Lehman; and three brothers, John, Mike and George Ondra.

      At the request of Joe, services will be private. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.
