Marvin Underkoffler
2017-09-17

            Marvin "Mops" Underkoffler, 87, of Harleysville, passed away, Friday, 

September 15, 2017 at LifeQuest Nursing Home in Quakertown.  He was the loving husband to the late Ella Mae (Long) Underkoffler for 63 years.

            Born in Ridge Valley, PA, he was a son of the late Robert and Katie (Seacrist) Underkoffler.

            Mops proudly served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict and worked for 42 years at Ametek U.S. Gauge.

            He loved his garden, deep sea fishing, deer hunting, making scrapple and most of all, being pop-pop to his grandchildren.

            He will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Terry and wife, Theresa of Ocean City, MD and Larry and wife, Patricia of Emmaus; four grandchildren, Tommy and wife, Melissa of FL, Michael and wife, Caitlin of Oreland, Susan and Fiancé, Erik of Philadelphia and Jaime and husband, Mark of Lock Haven; one great-grandson, Jake of FL; and his sister, Pauline, widow of Paul of Telford.

            In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by an infant son, Gary; two brothers, Robert and Richard Underkoffler and two sisters, Bertha Kolb and Mildred Frederick.

            A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Frieden's United Church of Christ, 1011 Church Road, Sumneytown, PA 18084 with Rev. Deborah Schwartz officiating.  Burial follows in Frieden's Union cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the church, prior to the service.
