Alvera Heffner
2017-09-12

            Alvera Heffner, 92, of Kutztown, passed away September 8, 2017.  Born 

in Chapel, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Emma (Ganter) Kriebel. 

            Alvera graduated from the Allentown Hospital School of Nursing in 1947, and was a nurse at that hospital for several years. She was a member of Palm Schwenkfelder Church.

            Surviving are children:  Barry Heffner, and his wife, Angie, of Newberry, SC; Gene Heffner, and his wife, Sharon, of Reading; Dolores, wife of Stephen Moyer, of Fleetwood; Frances, wife of Ted Smith, of Zionsville, and Carol, wife of Jeffrey Gieringer, of Kutztown; 10 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.  She was pre-deceased by siblings, Clara and Warren.

            Funeral Services will be on Friday, September 15th at 11 AM at Palm Schwenkfelder Church.  A viewing will be from 10 to 11 AM at church.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

            Contributions in her memory may be made to either the church, P.O. Box 66, Palm, PA 18070; or to the Schwenkfelder Heritage Center, 105 Seminary Street, Pennsburg, PA 18073.
