Georgina D. Schmoyer
2017-09-08

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Georgina D. (Bauman) Schmoyer, 87, of Barto.  She was the beloved and devoted wife of the late Donald E. Schmoyer through 64 years of marriage.  Georgina passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017, surrounded by family members.

Born in Bally, PA she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Florence (Mutter) Bauman.

Over her lifetime, Georgina held employment at Great American Knitting Mills and gave 37 years of service to Bally Ribbon Mills, until the age of 80 years.

She was a compassionate, loving, and dedicated wife and mother.  After retirement, some of her favorite past times included daily walks, reading, and assembling jigsaw puzzles. Georgina was a lifelong member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

She will be remembered for her kind and gentle manner, and most certainly for her loyalty to family, friends and animals.

She will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Diane, wife of Ernest Gehman of Boyertown and Janice, wife of Mark Stone of Barto; two grandchildren, Matthew Gehman and wife, Cynthia of Bally and Philip Gehman of Barto; 2 great-grandchildren, Brian and Sakura Gehman; and her surviving 3 brothers and 3 sisters.  Along with her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a great-grandson, Joshua Gehman, 5 brothers and 1 sister.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Monsignor Edward J. Coyle officiating. Burial follows in Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

Memorial Contributions may be made in her memory to Camp Sunshine, 35 Acadia Road, Casco, ME 04015 or at www.campsunshine.org.
