Joseph J. Janton
2017-08-29

            Joseph J. Janton, 81, of Marlborough Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 in The Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Twp.  He was the beloved husband of Veronica (Broderick) Janton who died in 2015.

            Born in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late John and Agnes Janton.

            He was employed as a statistician then became treasurer for Pennsylvania Lumberman's Mutual Insurance Company.

            Mr. Janton was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Sellersville.  In his spare time he enjoyed playing softball in the Hatfield region, and he also enjoyed bowling.  He and his wife Veronica volunteered at the Marlborough Elementary School, and also at the St. Agnes School, as well as the E.M Crouthamel School.

            He is survived by a daughter, JoAnn Heebner and her husband Scott of Harleysville, two sons: Joseph Janton, Jr. and his wife Kathi of Northampton, and Jeffrey Janton and his wife Ruth of Red Hill, eight grandchildren:  Sarah, Stephen, Jennifer, Joseph III, Monica, Veronica, Natalie, and Valerie, eleven great grandchildren: Noah, Moses, Abigail, Zephaniah, Naamah, Keturah, Ezekiel, Sydney, Jax, Tommy and Ezekiel. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer, who died in 1986.

            A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at 10 a.m. in the St. Agnes Catholic Church, 445 N. Main Street, Sellersville, PA 18960.  Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 9 to 9:45 AM prior to the service. 

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Agnes Catholic Church at the above address.
