Eileen O. Mayer
2017-08-22

            Eileen O. (Fitzgerald) Mayer, 73, wife of Terry M. Mayer, of Westfield 

formerly of Quakertown, passed away August 18, 2017 in Quakertown.  Born in Sellersville, she was the daughter to the late Maurice and Ruth N. (Afflerbauch) Fitzgerald.

            She attended the Upper Perkiomen High School, Graduating with the class of 1961 and then was self-employed as co-owner of Mayer Well Drilling in Quakertown for 50 years, in an Administrative and Secretarial position.

            Eileen and husband Terry who were married on February 24, 1962 recently celebrated 55 years of marriage.

            Eileen was a lifelong member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg. Her favorite activities included golf, cycling, tennis, archery, hunting and fishing.

            Surviving along with Terry are her son, Todd M. Mayer and wife Tracy E. of Quakertown and her daughter, Kelly L. and husband Richard Glinski of Laporte; brother; Eugene Fitzgerald of Middleburg, five grandchildren, Bradley, and Derek Fosbenner, Gabrielle, Madison, and Adelaida Glinski.

            Eileen was predeceased by two sisters; Noreen Smith and Kathleen Gardner.

            Services will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pennsburg, gathering 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on August 25 followed by the memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Committal service will follow in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery.

            Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.   Share memories and offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com. 

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 81 N. Main St, Pennsburg, PA 18073 and Fox Chase Cancer Center, Main Campus, 333 Cottman Ave, Philadelphia PA 19111.
