Mary A. Nester
2017-08-03

            Mary A. (Yerger) Nester, 87, widow of J. Norman Nester, of Pennsburg, 

passed away Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at home.

            Born in Bechtelsville, she was the daughter of the late Herbert P. and Helen M. (Conrad) Yerger.

            Mary was a homemaker but also worked at Red Hill Apparel where she was a sewing machine operator for several years before retiring.

            She was a member of New Goshenhoppen UCC, East Greenville, where she taught bible school and volunteered in many other roles. She was a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Citizens Center, the Upper Perkiomen Band Boosters Club, Upper Perkiomen Golden Agers, and was also a former Soroptimist Member in East Greenville. She also volunteered at the Upper Perk Thrift Shop.

            She is survived by her four children, Brian P. Nester of East Greenville, Darryl N. Nester and wife, Deb of Pennsburg, Donna L., wife of Rowdy Moses of East Greenville and Beverley A., wife of Bennett Fox of Green Lane; five grandchildren, Bobbie Jo, Christie, Brittany, Madelyn and Elizabeth and her dog, Norma.

            A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 7, 2017 at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Bonnie L. Moore officiating.

            Burial follows in New Goshenhoppen Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 am at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.

            Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to New Goshenhoppen UCC Accessibility Fund.
