St. Luke’s Care Now Opens Walk-In Center in Quakertown
Facility offers convenient access to immediate care of minor illnesses and injuries
People living in Quakertown and its surrounding communities will soon have convenient access to quality St. Luke's walk-in care at the new St. Luke's Care Now, conveniently located at 157 S. West End Boulevard off of Route 309 in Quakertown. The new St. Luke's Care Now-Quakertown facility opens on Monday, July 31.
Members of the community can see all that St. Luke's Care Now-Quakertown has to offer during the center's Community Open House on Saturday, August 5, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Visitors will have a chance to tour the facility, learn about its services and meet the care team.
"We are very excited to bring our St. Luke's Care Now walk-in center to the Quakertown area," says Ed Nawrocki, President of president of St. Luke's Quakertown Hospital. "St. Luke's Care Now provides patients quick access to our quality medical care when they are not able to be seen immediately by their primary care provider. It serves as an extension of the primary care services we provide in this community, but because the cost of care is usually lower than an emergency room visit, Care Now is a time-efficient and cost-effective option."
Care Now is not intended to replace an individual's primary care physician or manage chronic health concerns. Instead, St. Luke's Care Now-Quakertown provides treatment when a patient's family doctor is unavailable, or when a patient's injury or illness requires immediate attention, but is not an acute emergency. This may include fever and flu-like symptoms, sinus infections, bronchitis, sprains, strains, broken bones, dislocations, cuts, minor burns, animal bites and other minor medical concerns.
No appointment is ever needed. In addition to walk-in medical care, St. Luke's Care Now locations offer onsite diagnostic testing and occupational medicine services to employers.
St. Luke's Care Now-Quakertown is the ninth walk-in care center operated by St. Luke's. Other centers are located in Allentown, Bethlehem, Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, New Ringgold, Upper Perkiomen and Wind Gap in Pennsylvania, and in Clinton, New Jersey.
St. Luke's Care Now-Quakertown's hours will be 8 am to 8 pm seven days a week. Because of these extended hours in Quakertown, Care Now-Upper Perkiomen will no longer have Sunday hours.
St. Luke's Care Now-Quakertown's phone number is 215-538-4930. For complete information on all St. Luke's Care Now locations, services and hours, visit www.stlukescarenow.org.
