Melva L. Brunner
2017-07-18

            Melva L. (Hausman) Brunner, 100, widow of Christian J. Brunner,

formerly of East Greenville, passed away Saturday July 15, 2017 at Pennsburg Manor.

            Born in Schnecksville, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Louella (Greenawald) Hausman.

            Melva was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she was on alter guild and taught Vacation Bible School. She was also active in the ELCA, a Lutheran Church Women organization.

            She loved to work with ceramics, cook and try new recipes.

            Surviving are her two daughters, Berdean L. Angeny, widow of Ralph of Doyelstown and Eileen Saylor, widow of Roy of Bechtelsville; four grandchildren, Matthew Saylor and wife, Tammy, Melissa Shirey, Merrill Saylor and Michelle, wife of Eric Greene; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan, Tyler, Dylan, Hannah, Ashley, Elizabeth, Krystal and Andrew; and one great-great-granddaughter, Jordyn.

           In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brothers, Allen, Russell, Wilmer, and Raymond Hausman, two infant brothers, and great-grandson, Jason Shirey.

         A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville with Rev. Charles Romanowksi officiating.  Burial follows at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.  Share memories and offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.

         In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 81 N. Main St., Pennsburg, PA 18073.
