Peter M. Penrose
2017-07-07

            Peter M. Penrose, 73, of Green Lane, passed away July 6, 2016 at

Pennsburg Manor. He was the husband of Patricia J. (Gordon) Penrose, celebrating 51 years of marriage this past April.

            Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Peter F. and Doris P. (Murray) Penrose.

            Peter graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in Philadelphia.  Peter served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict for 2 years. After being honorably discharged, he was employed by Steamfitter Local 420 as a pipe fitter for 30 years until his retirement in 2002.

            He was a member of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Pennsburg where he served as an usher and a volunteer for church breakfasts, and he helped with the Scrip program for years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

            Peter enjoyed hunting and golfing.  He was an avid fisherman, and he especially enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada. He was also a handyman and craftsman.

            In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Patricia, wife of James Bernheisel of Holtwood, Michelle, wife of David Lynch of Kintnersville, and Gary Penrose and wife, Gina of Birdsboro; four grandchildren, Chelsea, Sean, Collin and Kyle; and sisters, Kathleen, wife of Thomas Frank of Philadelphia and Carol, wife of Thomas Fitzpatrick of Philadelphia.

            A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA 18073, with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating.  Burial follows in Holy Cross Cemetery.  There will be no calling hour.  

            Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.  Sympathy may be extended to the family at  www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
