A Milford Township man accused of sexual misconduct with an 8-year-old girl faces two felony and four misdemeanor charges.
Charges in the case were filed on June 29 against Evan L. Baker, 54, of Huber Drive. According to the police criminal complaint filed in the Perkasie court of District Judge Charles Baum, Baker indicated that he had inappropriate contact with the girl in October 2016 and told police that he has had a problem with child pornography for four or five years.
Baker told police that he last viewed child pornography on his cell phone, which was in his possession, according to the affidavit of probable cause. A forensic search of Baker's cell phone revealed 208 websites which were indicative of child pornography, according to court records.
Baum set Baker's bail at $500,000 monetary during a June 29 preliminary hearing. The defendant was remanded to Buck County Prison. He faces felony child pornography and unlawful contact with a minor charges, as well as misdemeanor charges of indecent assault of a person less than 13 years old, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors and indecent assault.
A preliminary hearing in the case has been scheduled for 10 a.m. on July 12 before the same judge.
