Robert H. Koons
2017-06-29

            Robert H. Koons, 92, husband of the late Dorothy E. (Wolf) Koons,

of Main Street, Red Hill, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in Quakertown Center.

            Born in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Henry and Sarah (Egolf) Koons.

            Bob worked as a Clerk of Works for the Upper Perkiomen School District for many years before retiring.  Prior to that he had worked for the former Rosenau Brothers in Red Hill for many years.

            He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Airforce serving as a Staff Sargent in World War II. 

            He was a long time member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Red Hill and loved hunting, fishing and bowling.

            He will be sadly missed by his children, Dolores A. Bergey of Wyomissing, Deborah M. Walter and husband, Clark H. of East Greenville and David A. Koons and wife, Patricia A. of East Greenville; a sister, Evelyn Kadingo and husband, David of Coopersburg; 4 grandchildren, Heather L. Walter, wife of Jeremiah Sell, Troy M. Walter and wife, Jessica, Justine M. Maag and husband, Christopher and Melissa L. Koons; and six great grandchildren.  Along with his parents and wife, he is predeceased by an infant daughter, and a brother, Gerald Koons.

            A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul's Church Road, Pennsburg, PA  18073 with Rev. Amy Hotter officiating.  Burial follows in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church. 

            Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.  Sympathy may be extended to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com. 

            Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the church at P O Box 47, Red Hill, PA  18076.
