2017-06-26

Kathryn "Jean" Gabel, 85, of Pennsburg, passed away June 24, 2017.

She was the widow of Gerald D. Gabel.  Born in Upper Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Daniel Heins and Sadie (Bender) Raysor.

Jean served as the tax collector for Pennsburg Borough for many years.  She was a member of Pennsburg United Church of Christ, and was formerly active in the Upper Perkiomen Band Boosters Club.  She also belonged to the SPCA and the National Wildlife Federation.

Jean enjoyed watching sports - especially the N.Y. Yankees and the Upper Perkiomen Baseball teams. She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch; rescuing countless kittens and cats; and playing bingo.

Surviving is a son, Dana, of Jersey Shore, PA; grandchildren: Derick, Michelle, and Douglas; great-grandchildren: Elias, Miya, Shelby, Tiara, and Damien; and her companion, Harold "Knute" Moyer. She was pre-deceased by sons, Drew and Dale.

Memorial Services will be on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Pennsburg United Church of Christ, 775 Main Street, Pennsburg.  Friends may call from 10-11 a.m.  The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either the Montgomery County SPCA, 1059 Sweisford Road, Perkiomenville, PA  18074 OR to the church.

To offer on-line condolences, please visit her "Book of Memories" at falkfuneralhomes.com.
