"The Man Who Built Peace" – life of Pennsburg native to be released
The newly made documentary film, 'The Man Who Built Peace', has been officially selected for its world premiere screening by the Illuminate Film Festival in Sedona, Arizona on June 4, 2017.
Illuminate is the world's premier film festival for conscious cinema. Dedicated to spreading enlightened ideas and pushing humanity forward, it is a landmark destination event and centerpiece for conscious content. Founded on the premise that the language of film is universal and a dynamic force in carrying messages to the masses, the Festival showcases the best of conscious media to uplift, inspire and transform.
The film is a biographical documentary that captures the life and peace-making legacy of Pennsburg native Dr. Frank Buchman, the founder of Initiatives of Change.
Segments of the documentary were filmed in the Upper Perkiomen Valley and the City of Allentown in Pennsylvania.
When he was 16, and after attending the Perkiomen Seminary School in Pennsburg, Buchman and his family move to Allentown, where he attended and graduated from Muhlenberg College.
He went on to graduate from the Mount Airy Seminary in Philadelphia and was ordained a Lutheran Minister.
Following an experience of personal suffering and transformation, Frank Buchman's course was set to pass that on to the world and helped shape the course of history. The film shows how Frank Buchman helped to rebuild relations between France and Germany and to "bring Japan back into the family of nations" post WWII. The film is very relevant in today's politically charged climate.
'The Man Who Built Peace' was up against over 400 other films in the selection process and is one of 22 selected for the festival.
The film's Director, Imad Karam, and Producer, Kelly Burks, will attend the festival and respond to questions from audiences after the film's screening.
The film will be available for public release in July 2017. People can pre-order the film by sending an email to: Buchmanfilm@iofc.org.
