Ruth E. Gottshall
2017-05-15

            Ruth Emma Gottshall, 89, of Frederick, and formerly of Palm, passed

away May 11, 2017.  She was the widow of Franklin Gottshall.  Born in Bechtelsville, she was a daughter of the late Clayton R. and Edna (Fox) Mest. 

            Ruth was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ.  Earlier in life, she was employed at the Cab Frye's Motel, the former Make Well Factory, and Knoll International. She especially enjoyed needlework, doing word puzzles, cooking, canning and eating at Shady Maple.

            Surviving is a daughter, Susan Gottshall, of Macungie; a granddaughter, Rachel Brandell Mayers, and her husband, Andrew, of Ann Arbor, MI; a brother, William Mest, and his wife, Naomi, of Oley; and many nieces & nephews.  She was pre-deceased by siblings:  Anna May Stauffer and Walter Mest.

            Burial Services will be private.  A memorial service will be at 10 AM on Tuesday at New Goshenhoppen UCC, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville.  The Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg has been entrusted with her care.

            In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Frederick Living, Benevolence Fund, P.O. Box 498, Frederick, PA  19435. (memo:  Ruth Gottshall).
