Peter S. Duklis, Sr.
2017-05-15

            Peter S. Duklis, Sr., 88, of Pennsburg, passed away at home Friday

evening. He was the husband of Margaret I. "Peg" (Shewell) Duklis, celebrating 64 years of marriage this past July.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

            Born in Palm, he was a son to the late Ladislavas and Konstancia (Zdanas) Duklis.

            Peter served in the US Army during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he worked at Pennsburg Clothing Company for 39 years. After that, he became a Service Worker at Merk in West Point, PA for 19 years until his retirement in 1991.

            He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Lifetime Member and a member of the Hereford Gun Club.

            He was an avid hunter, fisherman and enjoyed polka dancing, and snowmobiling. He was even a Snowmobile tour guide in Quebec, Canada for many years.

            Surviving along with his wife are two children, Teresa I. Louquet of Kintnersville, PA and Colonel Peter S. Duklis, Jr. U.S. Army Retired and wife, Elisabetta of Springfield, VA; five grandchildren, Jennifer I. Woodring-Shea, Emily E. Louquet, Derik M. Duklis, Alexandra N. Duklis and Diego S. Duklis; and two great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Norah.

            Along with his parents, he is predeceased by a brother, Charles Duklis and a sister, Anna Bogdon.

            Special thanks to St. Luke's Hospice Group and all of his caregivers.

            A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, 2017 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 1325 Klinerd Road, Pennsburg, PA with Rev. Robert A. Roncase officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.  Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA  18041.
