John F. Gilbert
2017-05-01

            John F. Gilbert, 81, of Pennsburg passed away April 28th peacefully at Park House Point, Royersford after a 13-year battle with Alzheimer's.

            Born in Green Lane he was the son of the late A. Howard and Catherine Gilbert.

            John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Beatrice; children: Todd and his wife Denise; Nancy, Thomas and his wife Kirsten and Holly. He has three grandsons: Logan, Sascha and Toby. He is also survived by his brother P. Lamar and a sister Cleta Landis, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers: Earl, Howard, Lester, Lawrence, Bob, Willard and Tweet; and sisters: Jeanette and Marie.

            John was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Red Hill. He was an avid birdwatcher, hunter and fisherman. He worked at Moore Business Forms in Quakertown before retiring early and then drove parts around for NAPA of Pennsburg.

            He also enjoyed sharing his life with many extra sons and daughters. Pop-pop had an extra large love for his many extra grandchildren and great grandchildren.

            Family and friends are invited to attend the services at Falk Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pennsburg, Thursday, May 4. Visitation will be from 10 am until service at 11 am. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Hill.
