Fern T. McNaughton
2017-04-26

      Fern T. (Wahl) McNaughton, 93, formerly of East Greenville, died Saturday,

April 15, 2017 at Village on the Green in Longwood, FL. She was the wife to Hugh L. McNaughton, celebrating 70 years of marriage March 1st.

      Born in East Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Morris J. and Mary D. (Carl) Wahl.

      She was the secretary to the superintendent of the Upper Perkiomen School District for 30 years until her retirement in 1986.

      She was a life member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ in East Greenville where she was a former Sunday school teacher and a member of the Women's Fellowship. She was also a member of the Pennsburg Unit American Cancer Society and the American Legion Perkiomen Post 184 Ladies Auxiliary.

      Surviving along with her husband are, her daughter, Deanna, wife of Stuart Schoenly of Davenport, FL; three grandchildren, Reed Schoenly, Heather Schoenly, wife of Kevin Jones and Marissa McNaughton; and three great grandsons, Tyler Schoenly, Jake Schoenly and Alexander Jones.

      In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son, Robert H. McNaughton and her brother, Carl M. Wahl.

      A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA 18041 with Rev. Cydney Van Dyke officiating.  Burial follows in the church cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.  Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.
