Mary C. Overly
2017-04-03

            Mary Christena (Kline) Renninger Overly, 96, of Frederick and

formerly of Pennsburg passed away on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Grand View Hospital.  She was the wife of the late John H. Renninger and James Wylie Overly. 

            Born at home in Upper Hanover Township, PA, she was a daughter of the late Oliver H. and Nora S. (Hillegass) Kline.

            She farmed on her property at three farms and had also worked at the former American Store, Pennsburg and Acme Markets. 

            She was a member of New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ and the former Pennsylvania State Grange in Red Hill and the Patriotic Order of America.  She also worked at the Upper Hanover Township Voting Polls on Election Day and volunteered for Meals On Wheels.

            Surviving are her children, Christena "Tena" M., wife of Larry Boardman of Pennsburg and Jay H. Renninger and wife, Mary-Lew (Meadowcroft) of Bally; six grandchildren, Brian Renninger and wife, Kimberly, Valerie Usner, Michael Renninger, Dawn Lawrence, Derek Lawrence and Dian Winner and husband, Charles and seven great grandchildren, Stephanie Usner, Kelsea Renninger, Gage Renninger, Molly Lawrence, Jack Lawrence, Taylor Winner and Sydney Winner.  Along with her parents and husbands, she is predeceased by two sisters, Nora Garges and Ellen Kline; step-brothers, Abner and Mark and step-sister, Edith.

            A Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at New Goshenhoppen United Church of Christ, 1070 Church Road, East Greenville, PA with the Rev. Cydney VanDyke officiating.  Burial follows in the church cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA  18041 and also from 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the church.
