Rev. Robert E. Stauffer
2017-03-29

      Rev. Robert E. Stauffer, 95, husband of Faye J. (Cressman) Stauffer,

formerly of East Greenville and Pennsburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Rockhill Community in Sellersville.  He and his wife celebrated 73 years of marriage on June 28, 2016. 

      Born in Quakertown, he was the son of the late Clarence and Pearl (Lewis) Stauffer.

      He was a 1939 graduate of Quakertown High School, a 1957 graduate of Albright College and then graduated from Seminary in Dayton, Ohio.  He later earned a Master's Degree from Lehigh University.

      Bob was the Pastor of Salem United Methodist Church for many years retiring in 1985.  He also had been a teacher in the Pennridge School District for many years.

      Surviving along with his wife are three children, Robert J. Stauffer and wife, Janie of Haverford, Karen L. Knapp and husband, Jeffrey of Blandon and Diane L. Cheer and husband, John of Allentown; 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.  Along with his parents, he is predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Jacobs and Esther Reinert.

      A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Salem United Methodist Church, 6440 Powder Valley Road, Zionsville, PA  18092.  Burial followed in the church cemetery.  Family and friends were invited to a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in church.

      Arrangements were entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.  Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.
