James L. Moyer
2017-03-27

      James L. Moyer, 79, of Pennsburg, passed away Thursday, March 23,

2017 at Pennsburg Manor. He was the husband of Delue M. (Vogt) Moyer, celebrating 57 years of marriage in July of 2016.

      Born in Pennsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Harold and Florence (Slotter) Moyer.

      James was a 1956 graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School.

      After being honorably discharged from the US Army, James worked at Columbia Tape as a weaver and machine mechanic for many years. After that, he worked as a cutting machine operator at Avery Dennison Corporation for 29 years until his retirement.

      James loved animals and his dogs and enjoyed playing chess, checkers and fixing cars.

      Surviving along with his wife are his son, Steven K. and wife, Lisa of East Stroudsburg; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Amanda and Ryan; one great-grandson, Cole; and siblings, Harold Moyer of Seisholtzville and Janice Zeigler of Huntsville, UT.

      In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his daughter, Brenda M. Kuhns and a brother, Maynard Moyer.

      A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Applebachsville, 837 Old Bethlehem Rd, Quakertown, PA 18951. Burial follows in the church cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 12 to 1 p.m. in church.  Arrangements are entrusted to Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA.
