John F. Rauch
2017-03-16

            John F. "Grundsow" Rauch, 83, of Palm, passed away Wednesday,

March 15, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Janice F. (Greiss) Rauch, celebrating 60 years of marriage last April.

            Born in Palm, PA, he was the son of the late John H. and Edna S. (Mest) Rauch.

            He was a 1951 graduate of East Greenville High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

            John was employed at Knoll in East Greenville as a Woodshop Machine Operator for ten years until his retirement in 1999. Prior to that, he worked at C&D Batteries and Trexler-Haines Gas Co.

            He was a lifelong member of Huff's Union Church and East Coast Four-Wheel Drive Association. He was also a member of East Greenville Grundsow Lodge and the American Legion Post 184, East Greenville, PA.

            In addition to his wife, surviving are children, Susan K. Gerhart of Pennsburg and Michael J. Rauch and Debra Sterner of East Greenville; grandchildren, Stacy and Jenna Gerhart and Bryan Sterner.

            A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home, 222 Washington Street, East Greenville, PA  18041 with Rev. Jane Kropa officiating. Burial follows in Huff's Union Cemetery.  Family and friends are invited to a viewing from 9:30 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Offer sympathy to the family at www.mannslonakerfuneralhome.com.  

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Huff's Union Church, 540 Conrad Rd., Alburtis, PA 18011.
