Virginia V. "Ginny" Taylor-Sloan
Virginia V. "Ginny" Taylor-Sloan, 61, of Loysville, where she was a fulltime caregiver for her parents passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2017 in the West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg.
Ginny was born September 1, 1955 in Pottstown, PA to Charles L. and Verna (Burkepile) Taylor of Loysville. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Charles Taylor III.
Ginny was a 1972 graduate of Boyertown Area High School; attended Mt. St. Mary's College in New Hampshire; graduated with a BA in Family and Consumer Science and Secondary Education Certificate.
She taught on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota after graduation from college in 1977.
She was a substitute teacher for many years in many districts and states. She also taught Family and Consumer Science at Upper Perkiomen School District for several years.
She last taught fulltime at the Scotland School for The Children of Veteran's which closed in 2009, in Scotland, PA.
She was formerly active in the Berks County Society of Farm Women and attended the Church of The Living Christ.
Surviving in addition to her parents are her son, Josh Taylor of Loysville, five siblings, Connie Tootle of Carlisle, Bonnie Taylor of Reading, Mary Cranford of Newnan, GA., Linda Taylor of East Greenville and Rodney Taylor of Temple.
A funeral service will be held on Friday March 17, 2017 at 10:30 AM in the Church of The Living Christ, 2401 Fort Robinson Road, Loysville, PA 17047 with Pastor Doran Wray officiating. Viewing will be from 9:30 AM till time of service Friday in the church. Burial will be in the Eshcol Cemetery. Fellowship will follow in the church fellowship hall.
