Walter C. Spall Sr.
2017-03-12

          Walter C. Spall Sr., 84, of Breinigsville and formerly of Palm, passed

away suddenly at home on March 9, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Sally Ann (Puglia) Spall.  Born in Staten Island, NY, he was a son of the late Walter J. and Josephine (Chiariello) Spall.

            He served his country honorably in the Army during the Korean War. He was the Food Service Director for the Upper Perkiomen School District from 1973 to 1995. While in the Upper Perkiomen Valley, he was active with the Upper Perk Band Boosters and the Boy Scouts.

            Following his retirement, he and Sally moved to Surfside Beach, SC and he was active with the Coast Guard Auxiliary there. He was the Past Flotilla Commander, Past Finance Officer, and a Boating Instructor for Flotilla 12-02 in the Seventh Coast Guard District. He recently became a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Breinigsville.

            Surviving with his wife are his son, Walter Jr. and his wife Kathy of Palm, his daughter Cynthia Ann, wife of Robert Kehm of Emmaus; his grandchildren: Sheri, Lori, Kenneth, Diana, Sarah, Michael, Joanna, Walter III, Robert, Michael, and Tyler; eight great grandchildren; and a sister Joyce Romano of Dunnellon, FL. He was predeceased by his step father Michael Nuzzo.

            All are invited to a viewing on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Falk Funeral Home, 163 Main St, Pennsburg, and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, with a Celebration of his life to follow at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Blvd, Breinigsville, PA. He will be interred Washington Crossing National Cemetery at a later date.
