Dorothy K. Barndt
2017-03-06

            Dorothy K. Barndt 89, of Franconia Twp., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in the Souderton Mennonite Homes.  She was the beloved wife of Claude Y. Barndt, with whom she had celebrated 67 years of marriage.

            Born in Souderton, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Anna Mae (Nyce) Kissel.

            Dorothy was employed as an assembler for the former Emoco CO. of Dublin Pa. for 17 years. She then worked for the former Hunter Spring company of Lansdale for 17 years. She had also worked at the former Son-Light shop.

            Dorothy was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Ridge Valley. In her spare time, she was known for being very talented with crafts and enjoyed quilting, crocheting.  Dorothy enjoyed traveling and camping for over 27 years, with a favorite destination being Lancaster, PA.

            In addition to her husband she is survived by a nephew Jack and a niece Roxanne. She was preceded in death by a sister, Grace K. Bailey, and two brothers: Paul Kissel and Jacob Kissel Jr.

            Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 11 a.m.in St. John's Lutheran Church, 910 Allentown Road, Sellersville, PA. 18960.  Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.  Family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. 

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Ridge Valley at the above address, or Living Branches Benevolent Care Fund 207 W. Summit St. Souderton, PA 18964.
